CHINTPT-16 Share Supplies, Martial Arts with Students

The commanding officer of CHINTPT-16, LTC FU Jinlu, accompanied by 30 fellow peacekeepers, paid a visit to Taylor Public School in Tubmanburg, Bomi County on 24 May 2014 and donated stationaries and sports goods to the school as a prelude to the International day of Children celebrated on 1 June.

On the arrival of the Chinese peacekeepers, children waved their hands and expressed their welcome at the school gate. “All teachers and students are very happy and excited to learn that CHINTPT will pay a visit to our school,” said Estor G, Boimah, the school principal. The Chinese peacekeepers and children had a happy get-together party. Students demonstrated some local dance and songs, while the peacekeepers performed martial arts and Cucurbit flute, a classic Chinese instrument.

After the performances, Chinese peacekeepers donated schoolbags, footballs and other school supplies to children. Meanwhile, one physician from the contingent also took the opportunity to provide physical checks for some teachers and students.

It is CHINTPT’s sixth time to visit local schools in Liberia. Each International Children’s Day, CHINTPT would pay a visit to local schools to express their sympathy and best wishes. In total over the last years, CHINTPT has donated USD $2,000, 640 sets of stationery and 125 sets of sports materials, cementing the friendship between China and Liberia.
