Chinese Peacekeepers Reach Out to Students in Sinoe

From 27-28 May, the members of the Chinese Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Greenville reached out to two schools with cultural performances and donation of equipment

Led by Chief Commander SNR COL GAI Lixin, the Chinese peacekeepers arrived at the Sinoe Multilateral High School to a warm welcome from teachers and students, who were waving the Chinese and UN flags. The peacekeepers donated footballs, stationery and books to the school.

“First off, on behalf of Multilateral High School we appreciate your presence and significant help. In the history of this institution, this is the first time we witness this kind of programme. China and Liberia enjoy a very good bilateral relationship. I hope we can uphold this. Thanks again for China’s help. God bless you,” said the Principal, appreciating the initiative.
SNR COL GAI Lixin emphasized the importance of serving and making a difference in the communities they serve.

“We have been in Greenville for more than seven months. We have witnessed the beauty of the nation. Today, we are at the Multilateral School to do as much as we can to enrich your recreational activities. The future of Liberia counts on your contribution,” said the Commander.

A cultural exchange ensued, with students performing traditional Liberian dancing and wrestling, and the Chinese peacekeepers demonstrating martial arts.

A similar outreach programme and cultural exchange was held on 28 May at Sinoe Cecelia Nepe Elementary School.
