Nepal FPU Reach Out to Rock Hill

A medical outreach programme was organized at Rock Hill community near Ducor Hotel in Monrovia on 14 June by Nepalese peacekeepers.  Led by the Deputy Commanding Officer, 15 Police Officers from Nepal FPU-1 along with community leaders conducted the health campaign successfully.

The campaign began with opening remarks and a welcome message from the Deputy Commanding Officer, followed by a short introductory class about health awareness on water borne diseases by Medical Officer Dr. Ashish.

The programme then turned into general medical check-ups for target groups, especially children and the elderly. The campaign was also monitored by UNPOL Onyeke Udegcofu and Dejan Kojcie from the UNMIL Community Policing Advisory Team, UNPOL Andrey Tsarkov and Robinson Langat Sigira, along with Inspector Rufus Kelvin Smith from the LNP Community Services Section.

Around 200 people benefitted from this campaign. The Community Chairman, community leaders and local people also actively participated and supported the campaign.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Commanding Officer Govind Chettri to all for supporting the campaign directly and indirectly. The community also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the outreach.
