    ·       Tunde Ajisomo-ECOWAS Special Representative to Liberia says a meeting of ECOWAS experts on post Ebola recovery begins today in Monrovia. The ECOWAS experts will review and deliberate implementation of recommendations proffered at the ECOWAS summit last year in addressing the aftermath of the Ebola scourge and mechanisms in place to prevent future outbreaks in the region.

    ·        Andrew Tehmeh-Focal Person/Liberia Open Government Partnership-OGP has confirmed the visit of the Open Government Partnership delegation to Liberia to hold discussions with the government of Liberia, civil society and donor organizations. At the core of the discussions is how Liberians can harness the great potential of open government to help meet their pressing needs. The delegation, headed by its Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Pradhan, is visiting Liberia for the first time.

    ·        Sam Collins-LNP Spokesperson said the Saturday container truck accident down Johnson Street claimed 3 lives and left 11 injured. An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the accident. The driver is currently being held in police custody. The container truck, which seemed to have lost control, ran down Johnson Street swarmed with petite traders and passersby.

    ​Abraham Dolley-Spokesperson/Liberia Immigration Service-LIS said 161 non-Liberians were arrested across the country with voter registration cards and have been turned over to the Liberia National Police for investigation into their actions and establish their nationalities. A Pakistani placed on refugee status in Liberia was also arrested for issuing residence permits and renewals.
