The SRSG accompanied the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and current chairman of the African Union, H.E.M Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, during his visit to Kidal. Transportation was provided by MINUSMA.
During the visit, they held discussions with the armed movements and the aménokal.
The SRSG is using his good offices to assist in facilitating the resumption of the political process and to ensure proper evacuation of wounded citizens and FAMA soldiers. The SRSG personally paid visit to the wounded.
