Lebanon today launched national consultations for the development of a "National Action Plan to Prevent Violent Extremism". The United Nations is supporting Lebanon in this initiative. The launch took place under the Patronage of Prime Minister Tammam Salam and in the presence of UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Sigrid Kaag, the President of the National Initiative for the Centennial of Greater Lebanon, MP Bahia Hariri and Swiss Ambassador Francois Barras.
