Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<p style="text-align: justify;">Coffee Break on Friday, August 25, 2017 featured the following persons:<br><strong>Hilary Siakor</strong> –Sirleaf / Assitant Justice Minister for Correction and Rehabilitation disclosed that Liberia to send correction officers as peacekeepers in South Sudan<br><strong>Sam Collins</strong> / Spokesman Liberia National Police (LNP) provided updates on the operations of the LNP<br><strong>Korto Williams</strong> / Member of the Liberia Feminist Forum (LFF) said the organization is staging a conference to map out strategies for women’s empowerment&nbsp;<br><strong>Genesis Kolliemene</strong> /Executive Director Youth Positive Transformation Initiative (YOPTI)&nbsp;&nbsp; explained efforts being exerted by the organization to help build the capacity of youth in the society.</p>
