Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<p style="text-align: justify;">Palava Hut this week featured officials of the Commercial Motor cyclist Union on their current violence free election campaign. The launched this in preparations for the 2017 elections.<br>With the runoff still pending, they intensified their peace messages.<br>Guests were John Kenyor, President General; Sam Kollie, National Coordinator and Matthew Goon, Zonal Chairman.</p>

UNMIL was deployed in October 2003 in accordance with Security Council Resolution 1509 to support Liberia’s transition to sustainable peace.
