Acting Commanding Officer, Maj. Khurram Ali, explained: “The main purpose of the skills training to the students is to inculcate some basic skills and impart knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance”.
“Whatever you have studied apply that knowledge to help better your lives” he urged.
George Dunor, the Superintendent of Lofa County, pointed out that: “The Pakistani contingent serving in UNMIL has conducted training over the years not only in Voinjama, Lofa County, but in other counties including Bomi, Cape Mount and Gbarpolu.”
Samuel Kollie, one of the students, praised PakBatt-18 on behalf of the beneficiaries: “At our school - Voinjama Multilateral High - we do auto mechanics but only theoretically, not practically, so this training has equipped us.”
