Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<p>On 20 December, at the National Elections Commissions (NEC) press conference in Sinkor, the NEC Chairman Jerome Korkoya, updated the public on the Commission’s implementation of the Supreme Court’s 7 December ruling. Korkoya’s briefing followed his appearance at the Senate plenary on 19 December, where he reported a state of the “clean-up” of the Final Registration Roll (FRR) was finalized with the support of the ECOWAS data experts.</p>
