NEC releases new voter’s listing, Sources: The New Dawn and The NEWS
The media reports that with barely five days to the holding of the December 26 runoff presidential election between the governing Unity Party (UP) and the main opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), the National Elections Commission (NEC) has released the new Final Registration Roll (FRR) for the runoff poll.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday at the NEC headquarters in the Monrovia suburb of Sinkor, Chairman Jerome Korkoya says, “With the foregoing, the new FRR is now 2,183,268, arrived at as follows: former Final Registration Roll (pre-cleanup) 2,183,629, removal from de-duplication process 274, deletion from records of shared voter Identification Cards 87, total deductions from FRR 361, new FRR (2,183,629 – 361) totals 2,183,268 qualified voters for the runoff.”

No Date Set for UP Judgment, Source: Daily OBSERVER
The Daily Observer reports that despite assuring the public that it would expeditiously hear and decide reported claims of election malpractices, the Supreme Court is yet to announce when it would render judgment into the ruling Unity Party (UP) versus the National Elections Commission (NEC) complaint of non-implementation of its (Court) mandate. Up to Wednesday, there was no indication that the assignment has been issued out of the court in that direction.
It has taken four days since the court heard legal arguments of the UP’s complaint, but it has meanwhile allowed the NEC to proceed with activities that would lead to the holding of the December 26 runoff election, although it has two days to decide election-related disputes.
The unanswered question is: why should the court allow the NEC to plan the December 26 runoff when it has repeatedly warned that a complaint of election-related matter must be heard and decided before any date is set? Read more
‘Ellen is the Evil Hand Controlling Weah,’ Says ALP’s Urey, Sources: Daily OBSERVER and FrontPage Africa
The political leader of the opposition All Liberian Party (ALP), Benoni Urey, has described Senator George Weah of the main opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) as a “good, humble and respectful person” that should not be given the Liberian presidency, “because he is being controlled by an evil hand.” Urey, who spoke unequivocally without mincing his words, named President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as “the evil hand” that is controlling the CDC standard bearer.
At an elaborate ceremony where he and the executive committee members and the entire ALP endorsed the presidential bid of the vice president and standard bearer of the ruling Unity Party (UP), Joseph Boakai, the ALP political leader said President Sirleaf was responsible for many problems in Liberia, adding that she is prepared to leave Liberia in problems with the support given to Senator Weah. According to Mr. Urey, “President Sirleaf is the worst thing that has ever happened to Liberia,” especially over the past 40 years. Read more

CDC Koijee Sets December 23 As Weah’s Installation As President, Source: FrontPage Africa
The youth wing chairman of the main opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) says the party will have the inaugural ceremony of its political leader, Senator George Weah on Saturday, 23 December ahead of the runoff election. According to Jefferson Koijee, the climax of the party’s rally would be a symbolic inaugural ceremony of Senator Weah as President by the people of Liberia, whom according to him, will turn out to vote for him massively in the December 26 runoff.
“We’re going to classify that convergence as ‘The People’s Inauguration’. The people would be inaugurating Ambassador Weah by themselves,” he said. The party’s youth chairman told FrontPage Africa that the ‘inauguration’ would take place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville. Mr. Koijee said the CDC has no fear that Liberians would not turn out to vote on the now controversial December 26 date set for the runoff, adding that the ‘inauguration ceremony’ slated for December 23 would propel citizens to vote tremendously for Weah.
