Peace Agreement is Signed

On 18 August 2003, a Comprehensive Peace Agreement was signed in Accra, Ghana. It called for, among other things, the establishment of a National Transitional Government and the implementation of a disarmament, demobilization, rehabilitation, and reintegration (DDRR) programme for the country’s ex-combatants.
