Back To The Ballot Box: (06 July 2017) - Part 2

Part 2

Back To The Ballot Box looks at the National Elections Commission’s Determination to Firmly Scrutinize Presidential, Vice Presidential and Representative Aspirants Without Fear or Favor. Since the start of the Candidate Nomination process on June 19, 2017 at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, the more than 100 presidential, vice presidential and representative aspirants have returned their nomination packages to the Candidate Nomination Center. NEC hired lawyers are scrutinizing those aspirants’ credentials. Based on the scrutiny, they will recommend to the Board of Commissioners for rejection or acceptance into the electoral process. With the rejection actions heard of from the Candidate Nomination Center, is the National Elections Commission ready to fully bite and to obey the law and the Code of Conduct? To address this concern and more, we have the Co-chairman of the Candidate Nomination Committee and Director of Political Affairs at the National Elections Commission, Joseph Yarsiah.
