Coffee Break - Thursday, July 20, 2017

Coffee Break is UNMIL Radio’s flagship news and current affairs program that highlights issues of concerns to UNMIL, government of Liberia, Civil Society and Grassroots communities. Issues such as peace and reconciliation, elections, women’s issues, current events, governance, rule of law, electricity and road construction among others are captured in the program which is aired Mondays-Fridays.
Coffee Break today featured live interviews with the following persons and issues:

  •  Yacoub EL-Hillo – Deputy Special Representative to the Secretary  General for Peace Consolidation / United Nation Mission in Liberia – UNMIL speaks about how the transition process progressing as  it  prepares to close its peacekeeping  operations early 2018;
  • Leo Nupolu Johnson - Executive Director / Empowerment Squared a   non-governmental organization launches a project aimed at  constructing a Liberian Learning Center in Monrovia;
  • Bettie Sharpe – Executive Director / Sharpe Home Care Service caters to low income earners and other women;
  • Patrick Davies - Coordinator/Webo Rural Teachers Training Institute talks outn the new batch of graduates being put out
