    Coffee Break is UNMIL Radio’s flagship news and current affairs program that highlights issues of concerns to UNMIL, government of Liberia, Civil Society and Grassroots communities. Issues such as peace and reconciliation, elections, women’s issues, current events, governance, rule of law, electricity and road construction among others are captured in the program which is aired Mondays-Fridays.

    Coffee Break today featured live interviews with the following persons and issues:

    • Dr. Francis Kateh – Chief Medical Officer of Liberia speaks about strange disease in Sinoe County that claimed the lives of nine persons.
    • Angelique Weeks – Chairperson / Liberia Telecommunications Authority – LTA to host 11 member states of West Africa Telecommunication Regulators Assembly’s Annual Meeting Thursday.
    • Abraham Dolley – Director of Communications / Liberia Immigration Service says seventeen Liberians were deported from the United States of America.
    • Gerald Yeakulae – Program Officer / Center for Accountability and Transparency in Liberia – CENTAL calls for effective campaign finance monitoring.
    • Sunny George – Project Manager / Independent National Commission on Human Rights talks about the outcome of the recently held town hall meeting with stakeholders to maintain the Du-port Road memorial site?

    -         Oliver Pratt- Program Manager-National Malaria Control Program / Ministry of Health  says Liberia is holding consultations with partners to for part of piloting Countries for the world’s first vaccine against malaria starting next year.

    -         Charles Coffey – President / Press Union of Liberia said today the Union will launch the National Media Council and Revise Code of Ethics for Liberian Journalists.

    -         Veda Simpson- Program Lead, Women's Situation Room /Angie Brooks International Center talks about their initiative “Talking Bus”

    -         Rev. Dr. Olu Menjay-President /Liberia Baptist Missionary Convention speaks about the convention taking place in Lofa County.

    -         Roosevelt Woods - Executive Director /Foundation for International Dignity –FIND and partners hold a stakeholders forum on the peace building road map.

    Bartolomew Colley – Acting Chair /Independent National Commission on Human Rights commemorates the Africa Pre-trial Detention Day and launches thematic report on prisons condition today.
