PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE UNITED NATIONS IN LIBERIA

United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) announces to the public that fraudulent activities are being exercised by persons impersonating UNMIL employees. These impersonators are selling fake employment contracts for a considerable amount of money in exchange for employment with UNMIL or other UN organisations.

Be advised that in the event of employment opportunities with any United Nations entities in Liberia, associated advertisement appear in local daily newspapers and the respective official website.

Furthermore, the United Nations does not charge a fee at any stage of the recruitment process such as application, interview meeting, processing, or training. The United Nations does not concern itself with information on applicants’ bank accounts.

Impersonating a UN official and producing fake documents such as employment contracts is a criminal offense under Liberian law. The UN emblem is protected international intellectual property, and its unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
