MONROVIA – Today, the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) handed over the partial skeletal remains of 27 individuals to the Government of Liberia. The remains had been kept by UNMIL at the request of the Government of Liberia. The handover was presided over jointly by Inspector General of the Liberian National Police, Gregory Coleman, and United Nations Police Commissioner, Simon Blatchly.
27 Dec 2016 - The UN Security Council has passed a resolution extending the mandate of the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) for the last time.
Resolution 2333, which was adopted on Friday, 22 December 2016, extends the Mission’s mandate up to 30 March 2018.

04 Jul 2016 - (Monrovia) - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of the United Nations Mission in Liberia, Farid Zarif, today lauded the people and Government of Liberia for reassuming full control of the country’s security. The achievement is testament to the progress Liberians have made in the past 13 years of peace, he said.
