  • 12 Oct 2012 - The Special Representative of the Secretary General and Coordinator of UN Operations in Liberia, Karin Landgren has once again lauded the country's progress towards sustainable peace, observing that the UNMIL could now focus on a gradual handover of security responsibilities to the host Government.  
  • 08 Oct 2012 - Twenty-forth high-level meeting of Heads of UN Peace Missions in West Africa Dakar, 8 October, 2012 - The Heads of the United Nations (UN) Peace Missions in West Africa held their twenty-fourth high-level consultation in Dakar to review progress in the coordination of the activities of the United Nations in promoting peace and stability in the sub-region.  
  • 26 Sep 2012 - On 26 September, more than 100 Liberian women met with Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Karin Landgren, in Gbarnga, Bong County, to call for increased access to justice. The meeting marked the third annual commemoration of the Global Open Day on Women, Peace and Security in Liberia.  
  • 18 Sep 2012 - Monrovia, Liberia - Commending the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) for its continuing and significant contribution to maintaining peace and stability in Liberia, the Security Council in its resolution 2066 (2012) has renewed the Mission for one year, until 30 September 2013.
  • 13 Sep 2012 - The nationwide annual “A Star is Born under 20 Talent Hunt” jointly organized by UNMIL and the government of Liberia will be launched tomorrow Friday 14, September, 2012 by the Minister of Information Culture and Tourism, Hon. Lewis Brown at the SKD gymnasium, SKD Sports complex at 2:00 PM.
