  • 31 Jul 2014 - UNMIL and the UN Country team welcome the launch of the Government of Liberia’s strategic plan for an accelerated response to the Ebola epidemic. The spread of Ebola in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone is unprecedented.  It is not under control, and continues to deteriorate, with an accelerating number of new cases and deaths.  Isolation centres are overwhelmed, and there is panic in some localities.

  • 24 Oct 2013 - Wed 23 October, Monrovia - Support for Liberia’s constitution review process moved forward today as the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) handed over twenty-one thousands of copies of Liberia’s constitution to the Constitutional Review Committee (CRC) at a ceremony held in Monrovia today at the premises of the CRC.
  • 21 Sep 2013 - Monrovia, Liberia – The United Nations, together with the Youth Coalition for Education in Liberia, the Messengers for Peace, and students from various schools celebrated this year’s International Day of Peace under the theme “Education for Peace”. A range of activities, including lectures and presentations on Peace and Education preceded the main event on Friday, 20 September, at the JJ Roberts Methodist High School with more than 300 students participating.
