Name of guests/resource persons:  Girls and boy from the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL).
    DISCUSSION:
The girls and boy held discussion on some of the substances that are harmful to the health of young people.
According to them, substance abuse refers to the harmful or or hazardous use of psychoactive substances, including alcohol and illicit drugs.
The girls said teens with family members who have problems with alcohol or other drugs are more likely to have serious substance abuse problems.
Substance abuse can lead to serious problems such as poor schoolwork, loss of friends, problems at home, and Failure to fulfil major work, school, or home responsibilities among others.
They advise their friends to watch out for peer pressure and alcoholic parental influences.
To parents, stop sending your children to purchase alcohol and cigarettes.
To the government of Liberia, strong laws and policies, bending the sale of alcohol to young people and the increase in the price of alcohol can put stop to the use of substance abuse between young people.
